Dorinda Hatfield
Dorinda Hatfield oversees our Media Ministry.
From Dorinda: "I believed Jesus was Lord since I was a child going to church, but He was not the Lord of my life. I stopped going to church just before I entered High School and from there went on to the University of Miami where I majored in Communications (Television and Radio) and Philosophy. After college I worked at two television stations in Miami. I still was not walking with the Lord. After that I got a job as a DJ at a radio station in Boca Raton where I met my husband Bob. Like me, he also went to church growing up, and also stopped going. During the next few years I worked at several other radio stations in West Palm Beach. After getting married, we felt the “urge” go back to church, and started attending the denomination that Bob had gone to. We always felt there was something missing. At that time Bob’s boss “happened” to attend Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale and invited us to go. We found what was missing. We learned more about the Bible in that one hour of verse-by-verse, chapter-by-chapter teaching then what we had ever known, and became true Spirit-filled believers. Soon after, I became a volunteer in the Concert Ministry.
In 1998 Bob and I moved up to Jupiter, one year after Calvary Jupiter started. Since I had a passion for Media from my television and radio days, I began volunteering in the Tape/CD Ministry. Since then, my service has expanded to many different technical areas, including editing and uploading the weekly teaching for the podcast and website. It’s so exciting when people tell me they give out our CDs to “evangelize” friends and family, or someone found our church via the podcast, or people from other states and cities write us and say they listen to Pastor Dan’s teaching on the podcast or website. When I’m not involved with my church work, Bob and I love to go hiking on nature trails enjoying the beautiful Florida weather and looking for animals along the way. One of my most favorite hymns is “All Creatures of Our God and King”. I am so blessed to be a part of what God is doing here at Calvary Church."
